Fishing
Cullaby lake offers a great
warm water fishing opportunity for local and vacationing
anglers. It supports a variety of fish including
crappie, bluegill, yellow perch, brown bullhead catfish,
and an abundance of nice-sized largemouth bass that
attracts tournament anglers in the spring. The brush
along the banks along with submerged wood debris and vegetation
provide an excellent fish habitat. Rainbow trout
are also stocked annually to provide a seasonal fishery,
but this ends in the summer as water temperatures warm. |

Whale Watching
The Oregon coast has a front-row seat for one
of the most spectacular events of the natural world—the
migration of gray whales. Each year, thousands of these
gentle giants make a round trip from Alaska to
Baja California passing right by the Oregon coast. Whale
Watch Week gives us an opportunity
to see rows of thousands pass by without stepping on to
a boat. Although the whale watching
tours offered can be quite rewarding. |

Bird Watching
Bird watching is one of
the fastest-growing recreational sports in the country.
On the Oregon Coast, there are more than 450 species of
birds that may be observed. Because the Oregon Coast is
located within the Pacific Flyway, hundreds of migratory
birds may be viewed during all four seasons of the year.
At Eagle Cove you will have the opportunity to see these
migrations and two
bald eagles which have nests on the lake. |
